Banana Bread

Banana Bread

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup sour milk*
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Cream sugar, shortening, eggs, vanilla and sour milk.
*To sour milk, add a few drops of vinegar to regular milk.
Stir in flour, soda, and salt.
Add mashed bananas and chopped nuts.
Place in 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
